Of “Rocco: Animal Trainer 28,” Rocco says, “All my scenes always try to bring out the personality. I’m doing (in) my movies a little story for each scene. So it’s like a small movie, each scene. It’s very important to me to see the personality I can bring out. In the first scene, I love Jasmine Black’s personality. We asked Rocco, who worked on “RB!” in L.A., for any behind-the-scenes anecdotes. “The only funny story from the shooting is not too funny for me. I had broken my wrist two weeks before, in Brazil. My trip in L.A. was already planned, so I came over with a lot of pain. At the time I stepped in front of the camera with Bobbi Starr, I wasn’t really physically ready, but I did it anyway. That’s why it’s not funny.” Rocco sees Bobbi as, “today the best girl in the U.S., maybe worldwide,” so he wishes he’d been at his best, though Bobbi has told us the director’s performance lived up to her long-held fantasy. Still, says Rocco, “I wanna do a scene with her very soon again, this time at 100 percent condition.” As he says, “Rocco is back!”

Evil Angel has received several nominations in the 2009 FAME Awards. Six directors who distribute through the company received Best Director nominations, six movies were named in the Best Gonzo Movie category, the studio itself was nominated as Best Studio, and Belladonna is up for multiple awards.

The FAME Award winners are chosen by fans through two series of online voting. The first round of nominees will be voted on through April 26. The second round will determine the winners that will be announced during an awards ceremony to take place at the Erotica LA convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 13, 2009.

Honored in the Best Director category are Belladonna, Joey Silvera, John Leslie, John Stagliano, Jonni Darkko and Manuel Ferrara. Evil Angel and its directors won a total of 16 awards at the 2009 AVN Awards.
The evening had quite a few special moments for the company, highlighted by the politically-charged dance performance directed by company owner John Stagliano. Las Vegas’ “Legends” performer Jazmine brought the crowd to its feet during her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner that morphed into a dance number inspired by The Crystal Method’s “There is Hope”.
Evil Angel’s Belladonna, one of 13 directors who distributes through the company, was stunning as ever and poised during her turn as host throughout the ceremony.
Belladonna, Manuel Ferrara and Rocco Siffredi received performer awards for productions from Evil Angel and other adult companies.
It was an impressive year for movies, both feature and non-feature. At the end of the evening, Karen Stagliano offered a tongue in cheek comment: “We won the most awards for any company that didn’t release a movie with the word ‘pirates’ in the title.” She continued, “I’m happy about each and every award category Evil Angel people won. We’re always thrilled when we win Best Gonzo or Best Gonzo Series, so that’s a great one for Manuel. I know that Jay Sin was very excited about the Best Specialty Release award for Milk Nymphos 2. We were in contact with Christoph to let him know about his win. He was very sad he couldn’t be with us to celebrate this year due to an illness in his family. I think it’s nice that the only tie of the evening was shared between two of our strongest series. Last week, Belladonna was telling me how proud she was of all the extra work she put into Foot Soldiers, so I was really pleased for her when I heard that one announced. I’m not sure if there are any Evil Angel fans who haven’t become aware of Raul Cristian, but with his three wins, hopefully they’ll be encouraged to check out his top-notch movies. Finally, I noticed when peeking at the winner list that Evil Angel movies won all three Oral categories. Jazz Duro’s first BJ movie ever won Best Oral Movie, and Joey Silvera’s Face Fucking Inc. won for Best Series and Scene.”
Company General Manager Christian Mann added, “The AVN Awards are a marketing opportunity for me and the sales team to remind our customers that our brand means quality.
