Evil Angel has received several nominations in the 2009 FAME Awards. Six directors who distribute through the company received Best Director nominations, six movies were named in the Best Gonzo Movie category, the studio itself was nominated as Best Studio, and Belladonna is up for multiple awards.

The FAME Award winners are chosen by fans through two series of online voting. The first round of nominees will be voted on through April 26. The second round will determine the winners that will be announced during an awards ceremony to take place at the Erotica LA convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 13, 2009.

Honored in the Best Director category are Belladonna, Joey Silvera, John Leslie, John Stagliano, Jonni Darkko and Manuel Ferrara. Evil Angel movies to make the first cut are Belladonna

As I write this, the Secretary of the Treasury is on TV telling America that what we need to get out of the mess created by government encouraging banks to make bad loans to homeowners is for banks to make bad loans to small businesses.

The phrase I need to define here is,

Thursday, February 12 was the XBIZ awards in Hollywood. There’s a press release here about the awards that Belladonna and Manuel Ferrara won for Best Director (Body of Work) and Best Male Performer.

I went to the awards straight from working late, and John me there after a dinner he went to where an economist was speaking. I saw some of my favorite people, including the gorgeous but camera-shy Acme Anderson, Devan Cypher, Mr. Pete, Jessica Drake, Belladonna and Aiden, and Mr. Marcus. Mark Spiegler was there with several of his girls including Kristina Rose, Adrianna Nicole, Dana DeArmond and Aiden Starr. Adrianna, Dana and Aiden kept John happily distracted the majority of the evening, which I’m happy for since when he doesn’t enjoy himself at an event, it decreases the chances of him attending the next one.

Jenna Haze made a point of telling me backstage that she was getting drunk. She also announced on stage that she was getting drunk and fucking that night. I’ve said it before, and I’ll probably say it a whole bunch more times, I love that girl.

This year in Vegas I got sick. The worst that I’ve ever been sick in Vegas. It wasn’t the typical Vegas flu that a lot of us who’ve been there for AEE have come to expect. It was some weird virus thing that made my throat so raw that when I coughed, my throat actually started bleeding on the inside.

So when I say that on the day after the convention, Janaury 12 (which just happened to be my birthday), I was thrilled to be doing nothing other than sleeping in the passenger seat of my Lexus RX 350 while John drove us home from Vegas, I’m being completely serious.
