CM: You started as a performer but your largest volume of work is primarily as a director/producer. How did that happen?
RC: I quickly realized that I wanted to control my own destiny and devote my time to shooting projects that were my vision, not someone else’s. I also wanted to make sure that I owned my own movies and had control of my business. Performers make good money but content owners make the profits. I like profits.

CM: How did Clara G. make the jump from performer to director?
RC: Clara was a girl-girl model only. I worked with her and helped her to improve as a model. I did the same thing with her as a director. Now, when she shoots, I’m not even on the set. The great thing about Clara is that when she directs, she gets a performance from the women that I can’t achieve. She has her own way of communicating with the girls.

CM: It makes sense that Clara’s experience would be perfect to direct the all-girl scenes in the My Evil Sluts series. How does that translate to the boy-girl scenes or to the Prime Cups series which is a boy-girl line?
RC: Prime Cups is a big tit series. Most of the women have lovely natural breasts and so does Clara. I think she appreciates this and uses that to inspire her. You must see her movies yourself because they are not just soft pretty scenes. Clara is soft and pretty but her scenes are hardcore and very intense.

CM: What about the titles you direct… You mentioned that Ass Traffic is your favorite line. Why?
RC: Definitely Ass Traffic! Why? Simple! Because I love anal sex! (Ed. Note — Raul shoots me an impatient glare at my too obvious question.)

CM: Your other series seem to have very specific appeals… Sperm Swap, Big Butt Attack, Tamed Teens. What’s the philosophy?
RC: I made my biggest impact in the internet business. The internet is about niche marketing. The thing we discover is that DVD consumers are the same… they want specific genres. The viewers usually know exactly what they want, and we give it to them better than anyone else. If the others do five scenes we give them six. When they went to six scenes, we went to seven. All good scenes! Remember we shoot constantly.

CM: How did you wind up at Evil Angel?
RC: It was always my goal to have a deal with Evil Angel. They have the best reputation. Their gonzo is the best. They’re focused on quality, like me. I met John Stagliano in Berlin and told him this. He didn’t seem that interested or maybe he was very busy, but he gave me his card and told me to send my movies to their office. I sent them in and then John contacted me and said: “Come see me on your next trip to Los Angeles to talk about Evil Angel distributing your movies.” I booked a flight immediately and the rest is history.

CM: What’s your new project you want to tell us about?
RC: This month we moved our operation from Hungary to Los Angeles. One of the things we’re doing now is weekly live feeds on Clara’s website (Clara-G.com). These are full sex scenes shot live. Our studio in L.A. is the best set up for live sex that we know of. The lighting is bright, the production professional. The scenes will also be on DVD so everyone will have a chance to see this immediate style we are shooting.

CM: What’s the DVD release schedule for Cruel Media at Evil Angel?
RC: We release one to two titles per month at Evil Angel, some from the Buttman Magazine division.

CM: What’s the difference between Evil Angel titles and the ones from Buttman (Evil Angel’s sister company, Buttman Magazine Choice DVD)?
RC: The ones from Buttman Magazine are more specialty releases. Also, they’re priced lower.

CM: Evil Angel’s prices are generally high. Does this help or hurt the line?
RC: Look, there’s free porno everywhere now. I started in the internet business. I understand this. What we believe is that real fans want quality and they will pay for a good experience. They can look at the free or cheap stuff for hours and never get off, or they can pay a higher price for one Cruel Media DVD and jack off to it over and over because it’s quality pornography made by people who know what sex movies are supposed to be. My message to the viewers is to not support the free or pirated movies because this will be the end of the business, and the end of good porno.

CM: On that note, give our readers some information to support your next project and enjoy this quality jack-off experience you’re so passionate about… what’s new from Cruel Media?
RC: In November we have two new movies — Big Butt Attack 7 from Buttman Magazine Choice DVD which is all big asses that John Stagliano loves. At the end of the month we’re releasing Ass Titans 3 with Alexis Texas.

I (Christian Mann) caught up with Jay and pinned him down in a conversation that I’ll share with you now.

CM: What is an Anal Acrobat?
I got the name from John Stagliano. He was watching a scene featuring a girl doing tricks with her butt: inserting odd objects, slowly pushing them out, anal winking. John thought the word acrobats best explained what I show in my movies.

CM: How is this different than all the other anal themed movies out there?
What I serve in my movies is a large portion of anal action. My movies are overloaded with anal play. I do this because I used to fast forward to these parts in other videos, so in my movies, it’s non-stop.

CM: What is the most outrageous thing you’ve ever filmed?
Probably the whipped cream enema in Milk Nymphos 2. I made a nozzle for the top of a whipped cream can that could be inserted in the girls’ ass. In this case it was Emma Heart and Tia Sweets. They had a great time. There’s nothing mean or violent about it. It’s nasty but fun. That’s what I try to convey. I want the girls to push their nastiness to the limit, but it’s their doing. I give the girls the instruments and let them go. I just make sure it looks good. They’re in control. It’s bizarre, but it’s not rough. It’s a fetish.

CM: Who is the most daring performer you’ve ever shot?
Amber Rayne in Deep Anal Abyss 1. She took the longest toy in the ass of anyone I’ve ever seen. Probably 13”. I cast this movie looking for girls who could go deep. When she started, she said: “Sure, I’ll give it a shot”. Next thing I knew it was gone! There’s nothing Amber isn’t willing to try.

CM: What’s the funniest thing that ever happened on one of your sets?
In Gape Lovers 3 I had both girls (Amber Rayne & Adrianna Nicole) dressed as honey bees fighting over honey. They were trying to suck the honey out of each others’ asses… that’s where bees store their honey. Sean Michaels enters the scene as the king bee who has to get the honey out with his black stinger. Adrianna’s agent came to the set and was dying laughing. It’s pretty funny but the sex scene is one of the best I’ve shot all year. It’s all there on the DVD.

CM: Which adult directors inspired or continue to inspire your work?
Stagliano, Joey Silvera, Rocco, Japanese Hentai porn. I used to watch Christoph Clark’s movies before I was in the business. He was the first one to gape the girls, and he was the best at it.

CM: Is there anything in mainstream culture that inspires your work in adult?
I come from the extreme surfing/skating world, so it made sense to transition to extreme sex. To be honest, I also get a lot of my ideas from cartoons and comic books. My ideas come from all over the place. I try to portray a surrealistic, cutesy type of fantasy. I like to get close-up on the girls and show a perspective you normally don’t see. My focus is on the girls more than anything. I’ve had fans tell me they’ve seen a particular girl in a bunch of movies, but never the way they saw her in mine.

CM: What need or niche do you think is missing in adult movies that you’re trying to satisfy?
I’m starting a new series called Pretty Sloppy that focuses on spit play. Hot girls who normally don’t do anal are doing A-T-M, rimming, gapes, etc. Spit play and swapping is a big fetish that isn’t being served very well in movies. It will be the main focus, not just a side act in Pretty Sloppy.

CM: Your new release from Evil Angel is Anal Buffet. Tell us about that.
It’s a brand new release that incorporates many of the different anal niches that we’ve been talking about. The awesome thing is the freedom that John Stagliano gives us to create our fantasies and then shoot them. We’re not encouraged to just follow a fad or trend. We’re allowed to shoot what turns us on personally knowing that there will be fans who share our passions. That’s why our stuff is always so real. I think that’s why it sells so well.

CM: Any closing thoughts to share with our readers?
I’m excited about my new blog: “Jay Sin’s Butt Blog”. It’s an opportunity for fans to speak to me directly, give me feedback about what they want to see in future releases and see some photos from upcoming titles. The blog isn’t a sales pitch or a sideways attempt to sell something; it’s a real community for people who share my passion. It’s a way for me to interact and also say thank you to the people who count the most: the viewers.
